Task
Ten Square Hotel's newest addition, The Doffer bar, required a logo design that embodies a vintage, masculine aesthetic while paying homage to Belfast’s rich Linen industry heritage. In Belfast, Doffers were the women who removed bobbins from spinning frames and replaced them with empty ones.
Solution
The final logo features typography reminiscent of early 20th-century industrial signage, paired with a hand-drawn bobbin and subtle linen thread motif to symbolise the craftsmanship and legacy of the local industry. This approach not only complements the bar’s character but also honours Belfast’s historical roots, creating a memorable and authentic brand mark that can be used across various promotional materials.
